CRC Made MLK Day a “Day On, Not a Day Off”
On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, CRC teamed up with the Guide Right Achievement Development (GRAD) Foundation and joined about 500 other volunteers to help Leadership Long Beach make it a “Day On, Not a Day Off” in honor of MLK National Day of Service. The service day included 20 projects throughout Long Beach, from beach and park clean ups to landscaping properties for the elderly and disabled.
More than 30 CRC employees, family, friends and members of the GRAD Foundation showed up to clean and landscape Willow Springs Park. Their maintenance efforts will help keep the park open to the public and allow the residents to enjoy the historical, natural surroundings of Long Beach.
This 10th annual event is the largest service day in Los Angeles County. It is organized by Leadership Long Beach and is sponsored by the Port of Long Beach, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Long Beach, the City of Long Beach and various civic and community organizations. CRC is proud to support Leadership Long Beach which inspires, creates and cultivates more than 1,500 community-engaged alumni who work towards the goal of a better community and give back to the great city of Long Beach.
